Operating Precautions for the Gantry Surface Grinder
Gantry surface grinder Operating precautions:

First, we hope that all workers can operate correctly. Gantry surface grinder , ensuring your own safety. Before operating a CNC machine tool, carefully read the machine’s instruction manual and other relevant documentation to ensure proper operation. Pay particular attention to the following points:
(1) Machine tool operators and maintenance personnel are qualified professionals who possess relevant technical knowledge or have undergone specialized training, and they operate the machine tool in strict accordance with safety operating procedures.
(2) Non‑qualified personnel are prohibited from opening the electrical cabinet door; the door may be opened only after confirming that the machine tool’s main power switch has been turned off. Only qualified maintenance personnel are authorized to open the electrical control cabinet for power‑supply maintenance.
(3) Except for certain parameters that are available to and can be modified by the user, all other system parameters, spindle parameters, and servo parameters must not be altered without authorization; otherwise, equipment, workpieces, or operators may suffer personal injury.
(4) After modifying the parameters, for the first machining operation, with the tool and workpiece not yet mounted, perform a trial run using machine‑lock mode or single‑block execution, and only proceed to use the machine once its normal operation has been confirmed.
(5) The machine tool’s PLC program is designed by the machine tool manufacturer according to the machine’s specific requirements and does not require modification. Incorrect modifications or operations may result in equipment damage or even injury to operators.
(6) It is recommended that the machine operate continuously for no more than 24 hours. Prolonged continuous operation may shorten the service life of the electrical system and certain mechanical components, thereby compromising the machine tool’s accuracy.
(7) All connectors and wiring on the machine tool must not be disconnected or connected while energized; otherwise, serious consequences may result.
When operating the machine, exercise extreme caution: do not allow your hands to come into contact with the cutting edge or metal chips. Remove metal chips using a metal hook or brush; never touch the rotating spindle, workpiece, or other moving parts with your hands or by any other means; and do not perform operations or change speeds while the machine is running. Do not use cotton rags to wipe the workpiece or clean the machine tool. During lathe operation, the operator must remain at their post; if any abnormal condition is detected, stop the machine immediately. Regularly monitor bearing temperatures, and if they become excessively high, have qualified personnel conduct an inspection. Do not open the machine’s protective guard during machining. Strictly adhere to the job‑responsibility system: the machine is to be operated by a designated operator, and any other person may use it only with the operator’s consent. When the workpiece extends more than 100 mm beyond the lathe, install a protective shield at the extended portion.
Second, we urge enterprises to strengthen their safety management systems, ensure the personal safety of every employee, and eliminate potential hazards in workshops and work environments. In the event of workplace accidents, prompt response, appropriate first aid, humane handling, and adequate provision of labor protection and occupational accident insurance are essential.
Third, our government agencies should promulgate relevant safety standards or pertinent laws and regulations for the machine tool industry to safeguard the personal and property security of every citizen. Testing standards for certain types of machinery should be tightened, and innovation should be encouraged to develop manufacturing equipment that is both safer and more reliable.
The entire machine tool industry is calling for safety, and each of us is looking forward to it. When machines rumble softly at our ears, we no longer feel fear—instead, we experience a sense of calm and security. Gantry surface grinder If the capacitor exhibits leakage, swelling, or rupture of its vent, it must be replaced immediately. Replacement should be carried out as soon as possible; moreover, in accordance with the relevant operating manual for gantry surface grinders, capacitors should be replaced every 3 to 5 years of service, regardless of their actual usage. The primary function of filter capacitors is to smooth the voltage in the DC intermediate circuit and to suppress low‑frequency harmonics in the DC supply. However, the heat generated by the continuous operation of the gantry surface grinder can accelerate the drying of the electrolyte, directly affecting the capacitor’s capacitance. Therefore, perform a routine annual inspection; if the capacitance has decreased by more than 20%, replacement is recommended. The service life of the main‑circuit filter electrolytic capacitors is strongly influenced by the ambient temperature of the gantry surface grinder.
